On 25th September, 2019, H.E. Brigadier (Rtd.) Dr. Julius Maada Bio sent a message of congratulation to H.E. President Xi Jinping on the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China that reads as follows:

I would like to convey warm congratulations to you on the auspicious occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
In the past 70 years, the Chinese people, under the staunch leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, united as one, have waged unflinching efforts and scored immense accomplishments, bringing earth-shaking changes to China and setting a shining example for developing countries worldwide.
Currently, under the wide guidance of Your Excellency, the Chinese people are forging ahead for the realization of the Chinese dream of great national rejuvenation. I wish you and China greater success. And I wish Sierra Leone-China friendly relations last forever."
