Chinese Embassy Holds Reception in Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of China-Sierra Leone Diplomatic Ties

On July 28, the Chinese Embassy held a reception at the Embassy to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Sierra Leone. Ten Sierra Leonean ministers including Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Elbun Jusu, Minister of Defence Hon. Mr. Alfred Paulo Conteh, Minister of Finance Dr. Samura Kamara, Minister of Information and Communication Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, members of parliament,   ambassadors and members of diplomatic corps, as well as representatives of the Chinese community, were present at the event. Ambassador Kuang and Acting Foreign Minister Jusu spoke at the reception and jointly issued the commemorative envelope for the 40th Anniversary.

Ambassador Kuang Makes a Speech

Ambassador Kuang said in his speech that China- Sierra Leone relationship has stood the test of time and that the two countries have conducted fruitful and pragmatic cooperation in various fields. He emphasized that both China and Sierra Leone are committed to further strengthening the friendly bilateral relationship, hoping that both sides should seize the opportunity to push forward the bilateral relationship.

 
  Acting Foreign Minister Jusu Makes a Speech 

Acting Minister Jusu stressed that the friendship and cooperation between the two countries over the past 40 years are based on mutual support, respect and trust. She spoke highly of the important role that China has played over the years in the economic and social development of Sierra Leone. She reiterated that Sierra Leone is committed to further strengthening the mutually beneficial Sierra Leone-China relations.
