Shenzhen Arts Troupe's Great Show in Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of China-Sierra Leone Diplomatic Ties

On July 21, Shenzhen Arts Troupe from China, visiting Sierra Leone on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Sierra Leone, gave a performance at Family Kingdom Resort. Sierra Leone's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Mr. J. B. Dauda, Deputy Minister Hon. Mrs. Elbun Jusu, Acting Minister of Tourism & Cultural Affairs Hon. Mr. Syl Goba, members of parliament and people from all walks of life, as well as members of diplomatic corps and international organizations, and representatives from the Chinese community, totaling over 600, attended the show.

Ambassador Kuang said in his statement that China and Sierra Leone have maintained sound and steady bilateral relations and conducted fruitful cooperation in various fields since the two countries established diplomatic ties. He believed that the performance is bound to promote cultural and art exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, further deepening China-Sierra Leone friendship.

 

Chinese Dance

Foreign Minister Dauda and Acting Minister Goba extended their warm welcome on behalf of the Sierra Leonean government to the Art Troupe, emphasized that Sierra Leone-China relations is one of its most important bilateral relations, and that Sierra Leone regards China as its true friend and partner. They both stressed that Sierra Leone is willing to strengthen and expand cooperation with China in various fields, so as to further promote bilateral relations.

 

Acrobatic Performance

 
 Magic Show

During the nearly two-hour show, the troupe put up various performances, such as traditional Chinese dances and songs, acrobatic and magic shows, which demonstrated the beauty of the Chinese culture and arts. The spectacular performances drew rounds and rounds of applause from the audience. At the end of the show, Ambassador Kuang and Minister Dauda went onto the stage and congratulated the actors and actresses on the success of the show.
