Mr. Hu Zhangliang held a press conference to update on the latest development of the COVID-19 outbreak and the measures China has taken to prevent and control the epidemic. Under President Xi's strong leadership, the Chinese government and people are united as one in fighting the outbreak, and positive results have been accomplished. Currently, the number of newly confirmed cases keeps declining, and the situation in Hubei and Wuhan is being put under more effective containment. He said that WHO highly recognized China's robust and effective measures to contain the outbreak at its source, contributing immensely to global joint efforts in curbing the scourge.

On behalf of Sierra Leone Foreign Ministry, Mr. Lungay conveyed sympathy and solidarity message to the government and people of China. He commended the remarkable efforts the resilient Chinese people have taken and said that he wished the virus would soon be put under full control.

The media expressed their firm belief that Chinese people will defeat the epidemic at an early date.
