Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 47 years ago, both sides have always supported each other on the basis of equality, fighting side by side at the critical moments like during the Ebola, and conducted long-term cooperation in peace-building and national development. Chinese side always highly values China-Sierra Leone relations and would like to work closely with Sierra Leonean new government led by President Bio to further advance the Comprehensive Partnership of Strategic Cooperation between China and Sierra Leone.

President Bio thanked President XI for sending the high-level envoy to attend his inauguration ceremony and asked WANG to convey his cordial greetings and highest consideration to President XI. He stated that, Sierra Leone and China enjoy traditional friendship. Sierra Leonean government would as always attach great importance to the development of its relations with China, draw on China's development experience, and broaden the bilateral friendly cooperation in various areas to bring tangible benefits to the two peoples. President Bio accepted President XI’s invitation with pleasure and looked forward to attending the FOCAC Beijing Summit in China within the year.
