On 17th October, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone hosted a Seminar on the 10th anniversary of Belt and Road Initiative(BRI) and 4th session of Face to Face with China program. Mr. Li Xiaoyong, Charge d’affaires of the Embassy, Mr. Konjoh, Chief Director of Ministry of Trade and Industry gave keynote speech. Local media and representatives from Sierra Leone-China Friendship organizations joined the event. 

Mr. Li introduced the historical background, main connotation and development achievements of BRI, promoted the significance of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and expressed that China-Sierra Leone cooperation is currently facing new opportunities, and China is willing to work with Sierra Leone to jointly build the high-quality BRI cooperation and a community with a shared future for mankind.

 Mr. Konjoh spoke highly of the brilliant achievements made by BRI in the past ten years and China’s valuable support to Sierra Leone's economic and social development and emphasized Sierra Leone is willing to strengthen exchanges with China to better benefit the two peoples.

Mr. Li and the diplomats of the Embassy also introduced the China-Africa Leaders' Dialogue and China-Sierra Leone economic and trade cooperation in the event.
