On 11 February, the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone held a Spring Festival reception to celebrate the 2024 Chinese New Year. Ambassador Wang Qing, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Mrs. Nabeela F.Tunis, Deputy Minister of Defence Col (Rtd) Muana Brima Massaquoi, representatives of Chinese compatriots and institutions in Sierra Leone, Sierra Leone-China friendship organizations attended the reception to celebrate the Chinese New Year together.

In his speech, Ambassador Wang Qing extended the blessing of the Spring Festival in the Year of the Dragon to all compatriots in Sierra Leone, introduced the new progress of China-Sierra Leone relations in the past year, and hoped that overseas compatriots would continue to play their role as bridges and make new contributions to the development of China-Sierra Leone friendship. Ambassador Wang emphasized that the Chinese Embassy will continue to practice the concept of "diplomacy for the people", provide services with sincerity and care, and firmly support for everyone's peaceful and prosperous life in Sierra Leone.

During the reception, the guests enjoyed songs, dances, comedy, martial arts, lion dance and other cultural performances from the Chinese community in Sierra Leone, which made the scene warm and festive.
