On February 14 and 15, 2024, on the occasion of the Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon, President of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Fatima Bio respectively met with Ambassador Wang Qing and his wife to express their sincere New Year greetings to the Chinese people. 

On behalf of the people of Sierra Leone, the Presidential Couple extended their most sincere greetings and blessings to the friendly Chinese people, and wished China prosperity and progress in the Year of the Dragon. The Presidential Couple spoke highly of the traditional friendship between Sierra Leone and China, thanked China for its long-term valuable support for Sierra Leone’s economic and social development, and looked forward to continuously new and important progress in the traditional friendly cooperative relations between the two countries in the new year.

Ambassador Wang Qing thanked the Presidential Couple for their best wishes, and expressed that China is willing to work with Sierra Leone to push China-Sierra Leone relations to a new level in the new year.
