On November 29, 2023, H.E. Mr. Wang Qing, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Sierra Leone, signed The Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement between China and Sierra Leone with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International, Mr.Timothy Musa Kabba.

H.E. Mr. Wang Qing said China and Sierra Leone have a long-standing friendship.In recent years, the two countries have continuously enhanced political mutual trust, achieved fruitful results in practical cooperation and coordinated closely in international affairs. The signing of the Agreement is another pragmatic measure by China to support the economic and social development of Sierra Leone. China is willing to take this opportunity to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, promote the continuous development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Sierra Leone, and better benefit the people of both countries.

On behalf of President Bio and the Sierra Leone government, Minister Kabba sincerely thanked the Chinese government and people for their long-term and valuable assistance to Sierra Leone. He said that the signing of the agreement once again demonstrated the friendship between the two countries and would help Sierra Leone advance the important governance agenda of President Bio's second term. Sierra Leone is willing to work with China to deepen friendly cooperation between the two countries and promote Sierra Leone-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
